The public is invited to review the following proposed off-cycle project of the County to be included in the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Fiscal Year 2023-2024 Action Plan, which identifies projected use of funds for July 1, 2023– June 30, 2024 for submission to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

Original CDBG Amount: $500,000

Description: This new project provides American with Disabilities Act (ADA) modernization for compliance and accessibility, renovations and water and energy efficient improvements for 1,427 resident unit bathrooms at five (5) County Public Housing Developments.  The work includes design and engineering for ADA accessibility, removal and replacement of old tubs and showers, repair and replacement of bathroom floor tiles, installation of new water efficient shower values and toilets, replacement of vanities, sinks, faucets, new painting, and installation of energy efficient lighting fixtures.  The locations of the five (5) Public Housing Developments are: Carmelitos (Family & Senior) – 700 Via Wanda, Long Beach, CA 90805;  Harbor Hills (Family) - 26607 S. Western Ave., Lomita, CA 90717; Nueva Maravilla (Rosas Senior) – 4919 Cesar E. Chavez, Los Angeles, CA 90022; Palm Apartment (Senior) – 959 Palm Ave., West Hollywood, CA 90069;  and West Knoll (Senior) – 838 West Knoll Dr., West Hollywood, CA 90069.  This activity will meet the HUD National Objective as a project serving Low- and Moderate-Income Clientele under HUD Code 14C.
