NOTE: PROMOTIONAL RECRUITMENT/OPEN RECRUITEMENT

A promotional recruitment is open only to employees who are currently working for the LACDA regardless of status. Regular, contract, and temporary employees from outside agencies who are assigned to the LACDA may also apply for promotional recruitments.

An open recruitment is open to the general public. Employees who currently work for the LACDA may also apply for open recruitments.
The required employment application and supplemental questionnaire (if applicable) can be obtained by clicking on the Title of the position you are interested in and clicking on Apply to complete the application and supplemental questionnaire.

Submitting Supplemental Materials
ALL APPLICATION AND SUPPLEMENTAL MATERIALS MUST BE SUBMITTED ONLINE.

For open until filled recruitments, please submit your complete application materials as soon as you see a vacancy for which you are interested in applying.

For recruitments with a closing date, your application materials must be completed by the deadline stated.
Most of our recruitments are open until filled. This means that applications are reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis. Division management will establish and implement screening criteria to comparatively and fairly evaluate the qualifications of all applicants, based on the application materials submitted and the needs of the Division. Only those applicants whose qualifications most closely meet the needs of the Division will be invited for an interview appraisal.

Interview Selection
The application materials will be reviewed by Human Resources and the hiring Division's manager. Those candidates whose training, education, and experience most closely meet the desirable qualifications will be invited for an interview appraisal and written exercise (if applicable).

Interview Outcome
If the interviewer(s) recommends you for a second interview, the hiring division will contact you to schedule a second interview. If the interviewer(s) does not recommend you for a second interview, you will be notified by mail.

Please remember, not all positions require a second interview. You will be told at the close of the first interview if there will be a second round of interviews for that recruitment.

Rescheduling an Interview
Unfortunately, we are unable to reschedule testing or interview appointments. The recruitment staff makes every effort to notify candidates well in advance of testing or interview dates.

Re-applying for a Position
You may only apply once for positions that are currently available. If the position happens to re-open at a later date, you may submit a new application at that time.

Successful applicants must complete a thorough background investigation, including a fingerprint search. Examples of disqualifying factors that will be discovered during this investigation include: all felony convictions, job-related misdemeanor convictions, certain serious traffic convictions or patterns of traffic violations (i.e. four or more moving violations within the last two years; any failure to appear; any at-fault accidents; suspended driver's license; or driving under the influence), poor employment history, substance abuse, and anyone currently on probation.

A valid California driver's license, proof of a clean driving record, and a reliable insured vehicle will be necessary for positions which require an employee to drive their own vehicles while conducting LACDA business. The job flyer will state if driving for LACDA business would be required.

Participation in a 9/80 work schedule is available only with the approval of the Division Director.
