Most of our recruitments are open until filled. This means that applications are reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis. Division management will establish and implement screening criteria to comparatively and fairly evaluate the qualifications of all applicants, based on the application materials submitted and the needs of the Division. Only those applicants whose qualifications most closely meet the needs of the Division will be invited for an interview appraisal.

Interview Selection
Candidates who most closely meet the minimum and desirable qualifications of the position will be invited to participate in the interview process.

Interview Outcome
Candidates will be notified of their status and/or next steps once interviews are concluded.

Rescheduling an Interview
Interview appointments may be rescheduled upon request based on panel member availability.

Re-applying for a Position
Non-selected candidates may reapply for the same position under a different posting after 180 days.

Candidates selected from the process will receive an offer of employment contingent upon the successful completion of satisfactory reference checks, a post-offer medical examination, a criminal background check, and a driving record check.

Examples of disqualifying factors that may deem a candidate unsuitable for the position include job-related felony and/or misdemeanor convictions, traffic offenses (i.e., four or more moving violations within the last two years; failure to appear; at-fault accidents; suspended driver's license; or driving under the influence), poor employment history, or poor character references.

A valid California driver's license and a good driving record must be maintained throughout employment for positions that require regular driving to carry out job-related essential functions where an alternative form of transportation would not be comparable in travel, time, or cost.

The 9/80 Program allows approved employees to work 80 hours over 9-days and have every other Friday off.  Participation in the Program is at the discretion of management.

Telework is defined as a flexible work arrangement that allows full-time employees to perform the duties and responsibilities of their positions at an approved alternate workplace.
