The public is invited to review the following cancelled projects of the County that had been included in the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Fiscal Year 2024-2025 Action Plan, which identified projected use of funds for July 1, 2024 – June 30, 2025 for submission to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).  

Agency Name:  Department of Parks and Recreation

Program Name:  DPR-Senior Programs (Stephen Sorenson Park)

Project Number:  602713-24

Original CDBG Amount: $60,000

Description: This new project would have provided a Senior program, to include nutrition, at Stephen Sorensen Park (16801 E. Avenue P, Palmdale, CA), for persons 60+ years.  Participants were to be provided with stay fit activities, social events, case management, resource and referral services, cultural and enrichment trips, and daily congregate lunch.  This project will proceed with a different funding source.

Program Name:  DPR – Senior Programs (Jackie Robinson Park)

Project Number:  602717-24

Original CDBG Amount: $25,000

Description: This new project would have provided a Senior Activities Program at Jackie Robinson Park (8773 E Avenue R, Littlerock, CA), for persons 60+ years.  Participants were to be provided with a place to stay fit, active and environment to socialize.  This project will proceed with a different funding source.
