NOTICE TO PUBLIC OF FUNDING FOR NEW PROJECT
PUBLIC NOTICE

The public is invited to review the following proposed off-cycle project of the County to be included in the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Fiscal Year 2022-2023 Action Plan, which identifies projected use of funds for July 1, 2022– June 30, 2023 for submission to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

Original CDBG Amount: $210,203Description:  This new COVID-related project provides meals and activities for seniors aged 55+ at seven (7) Los Angeles County parks.  Senior activities include the promotion of physical and mental wellbeing, nutrition information and socialization including trauma-informed care and compassion fatigue workshops and training for seniors to help recover from the impacts of COVID-19 and to support their mental and emotional well-being. This project is 100% CDBG-funded.  The locations are Belvedere Park, 4914 E. Cesar Chavez Ave., Los Angeles, Salazar Park, 3864 Whittier Blvd., Los Angeles, Valleydale Park, 5525 N. Lark Ellen Ave., Azusa, Sunshine Park, 515 S. Deepmead Ave., La Puente, Carolyn Rosas Park, 18500 Farjardo St., Rowland Heights, Pathfinder Park, 18150 Pathfinder Rd., Rowland Heights, and Hacienda Heights Community Center, 1545 S. Stimson Ave., Hacienda Heights.  This activity meets the HUD National Objective as a project serving Low- and Moderate-income Limited Clientele under HUD Code 05A.
